Due to an embargo, we can’t yet fully disclose the Find X8’s full specs and features. But this quick unboxing will give you a glimpse of what’s to come. The OPPO Find X8’s retail package includes the usual set of accessories, including an 80W fast charger.
It comes in the familiar silver OPPO box, designed in gray and silver trimmings. The initial setup is quick and easy. I am happy to report that the Find X8 comes with minimal bloat.
But at this point, it’s no longer a major issue. It does, however, slow down the initial setup experience. I recommend to just uninstall or disable the apps you don’t need.
In our case, I often remove most apps that I don’t use, including third-party applications, duplicate apps, and the Hot Apps and Hot Games folders. The smartphone comes with ColorOS 15 (based on Android 15) out of the box. This is the latest iteration of OPPO’s mobile operating system and it brings a range of AI features and enhancements, including improved performance, enhanced privacy and security, and a more visually appealing interface.
At first glance, you will be impressed by what you see. The Find X8 has a sleek and compact design. It feels good in the hand with a flat display and flat sides, adding to its ergonomics.
The screen is bright and colorful, which looks like it can compete with the best. The phone is relatively compact, despite the 6.59-inch display, thanks in part to ultra-narrow bezels and curved corners.
It also has a small hole punch cutout for the selfie camera. Our review unit is in Star Grey color, which has a light bronze tint. You can find the volume and power buttons on the right side.
The SIM tray, a pair of microphones, a USB-C port, and a speaker are at the bottom. On top is another speaker, an IR port, and another set of microphones. One huge addition is an alert slider, found on the left side.
Aside from its design, something to look forward to is its camera performance. The Find X8 has a large circular camera module at the rear that houses three sensors, tuned by Hasselblad. The LED flash is located separately, on the upper left corner of the back panel.
