Opera Lafayette will celebrate 30 years of Ryan Brown on two separate occasions.The program, titled “RE|JOICE: 30 Years of Ryan Brown,” heads to New York City for a performance at St. Bartholomew Church on April 30, 2025.

Then on May 1, the showcase will take the stage in Washington D.C. at The Kennedy Center.



Both events will represent Brown’s final program with the company.The 90-minute showcase will honor Brown, who was the visionary behind the company and led its first concert in 1995. To honor his legacy, the performance will feature music, musicians, and composers that Brown has honored throughout his 30-year tenure as Artistic Director.

Among the soloists involved are soprano Paulina Francisco, bass-baritone Jonathan Taylor Ward, and tenor James Reese.The company’s website notes that the Washington D.C.

showcase is not being produced by The Kennedy Center, but is being presented in “coordination with the Kennedy Center Campus Rentals Office.”Both performances include a 15-minute intermission, with the NYC showcase kicking off at 7 p.m.
