The opening date for the new Clydebank and Yoker to Renfrew Bridge has been confirmed by a local councillor. A Renfrewshire Councillor has revealed the road bridge is set to open on Friday, May 9. Councillor John Shaw said: "I've had confirmation that the new Renfrew Bridge will be open to traffic, pedestrians and active travel on Friday May 9, 2025, the exact timing will be confirmed closer to the date. "There will be a formal opening on the 8th of May which is a closed event, while I welcome the opening, I'm unsure why a public celebration is not taking place given the grief the town has had to go through to get to to this point.

" The project is funded by the UK and Scottish Governments through the £1.13 billion Glasgow City Region City Deal. It was originally due to be fully operational for pedestrians, cyclists and motorists in Autumn 2024.
