A long established Indian restaurant which was forced out of its old building will be reopening this month. It was announced in February this year that Lagan Restaurant in Ladybridge would have to move out of its old premises on Broadgate. The eatery was set to be turned into a prayer room , meaning they would no longer be able to operate from it.
That prayer room was approved in July, sealing Lagan's fate. But last month, 10 days before it was due to close, its management secured a new location at the former site of Nick's Restaurant on Chorley New Road, Horwich . The restaurant has now announced it will have its grand opening on November 13 at 5pm, with the Mayor and Mayoress having been invited down.

Lagan (Image: Lagan Restaurant) Lagan's former restaurant had served the Ladybridge community for almost 20 years before it was forced to close. Owners Raj Das, Moyna Dey and Robi Das have been working together for over 35 years and established it in early 2006.
For the new restaurant, its owners are going through the process of renovating the building and obtaining an alcohol license . Raj Das said that they have put a new menu together, with the chefs having been testing out recipes on their families in the interim. He said: "A couple of our chefs sat together and agreed on the new menu.
"Our chefs have gone away in the interim and tested new recipes on their families, so we have got new dishes that we will bring to the menu, with new flavours. "We're really excited, fingers crossed that it will all go to plan.".
