Super Eagles defender Bruno Onyemaechi has sent a cryptic message to Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly after scoring his first goal of the season for Boavista in their 2-2 draw against Estrela in the Portuguese topflight on Monday night, PUNCH Sports Extra reports. Following last week’s impressive outings with Nigeria in their 2025 AFCON qualifying matches against Benin Republic and Rwanda, the Nigeria international returned to his club’s lineup for his fifth league appearance of the season and made an immediate impact, scoring the opening goal in the 23rd minute to give Boavista an early lead. The defender was later shown a red card, but the decision was overturned by the VAR as the game ended 2-2.

The players’ joke isn’t unconnected to the summer signing spree of Chelsea, which took their spending to €1.32bn since Boehly and Co.
