fans have been slapped with a killjoy ban on taking selfies or asking for autographs at a £550 a pop event to meet show legend The Del Boy actor is set to be the star attraction at the Only Fools & Horses Appreciation Society scheduled to take place in at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Milton Keynes, Bucks, in March next year. Fools and Horses devotees are promised a ‘Moment with Sir David Jason’ posing for a photograph in the Trotter flat, a Saturday Night Karaoke session and a ‘bolt on’ option of a photo taken at the Nags Head with cast members excluding Sir David. But Jolly Boys Outing fans have been warned they face a raft of rules and regulations at the get together before they get to meet the cast despite having to fork out between £100 and £550 a ticket to attend.
In a strict list of dos and don’ts posted online Nelson Mandela House lovers are warned not to, “bring anything to attempt Sir David to sign as it will not be permitted.” A doom-laden blurb adds: “Due to time constraints, Sir David will not be signing any items across the Convention weekend.” Attendees are also warned, “no gifts (are to) be given to Sir David Jason as this will take up all of the allocated time for your photo”.
And there is also a strict “no selfies” rule at the supposedly fun-packed event. A notice reads: “There will be NO ‘Selfies’ at the event with Sir David Jason. Selfies are left to the discretion of the other guest actors, although most are very happy to pose for a photograph if asked politely.
“We do not charge for a selfie. Crew Members will be sat with each actor and happy to assist with the taking of your photo.” Other caveats include a ban on kids attending and the absence of alcohol being served at the show although there will be a bar serving paid for “soft drinks and snacks.
” Although guests are warned payment is via card only as the venue is a “Cashless Hotel.” An advice note tells fans: “Unfortunately for our 2024 Convention, this event will be an Adults Only Event. “If you would like an U14 to attend, this is possible, but a full priced ticket will need to be purchased.
” Wheelchairs access is available. Last month we told how Sir David Jason was upset Del Boy’s name is being used as shorthand for a dodgy dealer. And in September we reported Del Boy’s Reliant Regal van from the chandelier episode of Only Fools & Horses is being sold for a bargain £18,000.
