One of Taiwan’s Most Popular Fried Chicken Shops Is Opening in Orange County

One of Taiwan’s most popular fried chicken restaurants, J&G Fried Chicken , is opening its second U.S. store and first Orange County location at the Irvine Spectrum on November 23, 2024.

Huang Jinchang founded the original J&G Fried Chicken in 1973 as a street food operation on Jiguang Street in Taichung. Today, the brand has 70 stores in Taiwan and 430 internationally. The LA and OC locations are in partnership with 85°C Bakery Cafe .



On the menu is Taiwanese-style fried chicken prepared in custom-designed fryers. Find dishes like fried chicken sandwiches offered in a plethora of flavors (original, spicy, yuzu, and sweet and sour), along with popcorn chicken, chicken cartilage, and chicken tenders accompanied by Asian-inspired dipping sauces. Non-chicken items include fried oyster mushrooms and a smoked salmon sandwich.

Thanksgiving cake For those looking for something other than pie for dessert this Thanksgiving, Susie Cakes is baking up cranberry orange cakes for the holiday. The creation is composed of three layers of orange-flavored cake studded with cranberries and an orange buttercream with fall-colored sugar. Pre-order by November 23 for pickup on November 27.
