One man dead after Sunday shooting in Chesapeake

One man is dead after an overnight shooting Sunday in Chesapeake. Officers responded about 3 a.m.

to the 500 block of Coveside Lane, about half a mile away from the Greenbrier Mall, Chesapeake police said in a news release. They found Jeremiah Joseph Casarez, 30, shot multiple times. He died at the scene.



Investigators are looking for Darnell Maceo Barnwell, 39, who they say is considered a person of interest in the investigation. He was last seen leaving the area in a black Hyundai sedan, the release said.
