One killed, several injured in I-59 crash in Trussville Tuesday

One person was killed in an interstate crash in Trussville Tuesday morning. A traffic report showed the crash happened on Interstate 59 southbound at the Chalkville Mountain Road exit at about 8:30 a.m.

Sept. 17. The Trussville Police Department said there was one fatality and three others injured and taken to area hospitals.



The crash caused the closure of all southbound lanes and one northbound lane for a while, causing a long line of backed-up traffic. The TPD said the cause of the collision is being investigated. Follow: Interactive traffic map.
