George Jarvis said he is “here to take over” ahead of his second fight with Mouhcine Chafi at ONE Fight Night 30 on Saturday. Having earned his spot on the big stage with a stunning finish of Rungrawee Sitsongpeenong last November which earned him a coveted US$100,000 contract with the organisation, Jarvis said the best is yet to come. “Yeah, you know, what a night that was,” he told the Post.
“Mixed emotions – one thing led to another, and eventually, we walked out with the contract I wanted so badly and deserved so much. A good knockout as well.” But as Jarvis knows, making it to the top requires more than just skill in the ring.
“To get these opportunities is one thing,” he added. “Doing it in the ring, I’d say 90 per cent of what you do in the ring gets you these opportunities, but every now and again, you need to be able to speak up and state the facts. “I didn’t say anything on the night that I didn’t believe was true.
Everything I said was everything I’ve already done. So, you need to speak up, let the people hear what you have to say, and get what you deserve.”.
