New Year revellers did K6000 damage to Taurama Pharmacy Port Moresby on Monday night. The owner of the chemist shop, Mr Tony Foung, said yesterday about K5000 worth of watches and tape recorders had been stolen from the shop. Mr Foung said his shop was broken into about midnight and within half an hour the watches and tape recorders had disappeared.
He said a group of about 50 people came from the direction of the Taurama lights and went to the shopping area at Taurama smashing windows in the shops. He said his employees, who live about two doors from the shop, were helpless because the gang started chasing and throwing stones and sticks a them. “It was a very busy and rowdy New Year’s Eve for police.
