SRINAGAR, Apr 3: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has called an emergency meeting of the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) Legislative Party and its allies, including the Congress, for tomorrow to discuss the recent transfer of 48 Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Services (JKAS) officers by the Lieutenant Governor’s administration, sources confirmed. The meeting comes after concerns were raised regarding the transfer of the officers, a move that has reportedly not been well received by the elected government. Sources within the government claim that Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha is overstepping his authority by interfering in civil affairs, emphasizing that such transfers fall under the jurisdiction of the elected government, not the Lieutenant Governor.

This marks the second time such transfers have been ordered by the LG administration. A similar move was made when Chief Minister Omar Abdullah was away on a pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia, which had also triggered dissatisfaction within the ruling National Conference and its allies.A senior National Conference leader confirmed the emergency meeting, noting that in addition to discussing the transfer orders, several other sensitive issues would also be addressed.

However, further details on the agenda were not disclosed.Tags: Northlines, Jammu and Kashmir, Omar AbdullahThe post Omar calls emergency meeting over transfer of 48 JKAS Officers appeared first on Northlines..
