On Sept. 29, the Black Academy honoured the best and brightest in Black Canadian talent at the Legacy Awards, a star-studded event hosted by Adrian Holmes and broadcast on CBC and CBC Gem. Cameron Bailey, Kardinal Offishall and Weyni Mengesha were among the honourees, and recent Olympic Gold medalists — hammer throw champion Camryn Rogers and the men’s 4 x 100 metres relay team of Aaron Brown, Andre De Grasse, Brendon Rodney and Jerome Blake — received a special tribute.
