Yemi Olarewaju, technical adviser of Enyimba cast a forlon look after the People’s Elephant and nine-time NPFL winners failed to break Remo Stars five-match unbeaten run against his club in Aba, reports. The Sky Blues, as Remo Stars are called, tightly screwed their heads onto their necks, cutting every blade of the grass, to hold Enyimba to a scoreless draw in their match day 11 fixture in Aba. The result extended Remo Stars unbeaten run to five games in a row and a visibly ‘frustrated’ Olanrewaju was loud and clear in his declaration that he was ‘disappointed’ with the result.

“Honestly, I feel very bad. We really wanted to break the Remo Stars jinx today but it wasn’t our day”, Olanrewaju lamented. “I think this is one of our best performances at home this season.

We really had a good game tactically. They (Remo Stars) didn’t get a shot on goal. They only had one conner kick althrough the 90 minutes.

“Tactically, we were better today. We did well but we didn’t take one or two of our chances. It’s very unfortunate.

We wanted this three points badly but that’s football for you. We keep working hard; the league is a marathon, so we’ve to forge ahead and focus on the next game”. The Enyimba technical boss reckons that despite the points dropped against Remo Stars, his team remains in the hunt for a podium finish.

He said they’ve put behind the Remo Stars game and have shifted focus to the match day 12 Oriental Derby versus Abia Warriors. “We have to target three points in our next game, which is an Oriental Derby against Abia Warriors. We have to make up for the missed two points”, he said, admitting that the campaign is not a tea party.

“This season, the league is very tough, it’s a marathon and when you look at the top teams, like Remo Stars, I know all their players. It’s only Faisal, and may be, the left back that are new players. They have all their players intact.
