LAGOS—Nigerian rap icon, Olamide Adedeji popularly known as Olamide, surprised fans with an upcoming project announcement just hours after taking the stage at Davido and Chioma’s wedding celebration. The forthcoming project, comprising 7 tracks, bears a title that holds profound meaning, as ‘Ikigai’ is a Japanese term that signifies one’s purpose or reason for existence. Olamide’s latest announcement, ‘Ikigai’, represents a significant milestone in his discography – his 10th solo album and 15th overall project.
