Freshman guard Jeremiah Fears was awesome for the Oklahoma Sooners in 2024-25. So good, in fact, that he doesn't feel he needs "seasoning" at the college level before making a jump to the NBA. Fears, a 6-foot-4, 182-pound product of Joliet, Illinois, announced his decision to declare for the 2025 NBA Draft on "The Paul Finebaum Show" on Wednesday.
“Yes, I’ve made a decision,” Fears told Finebaum ( h/t On3 ). “I spoke with my family about it and we felt like it’s time for me to enter the 2025 draft. .
.. It’s always been a dream come true to play in the NBA and we just felt like it was the right time.

1 points, 4.1 rebounds and 4.1 assists for the Sooners this past season in 30.
2 minutes per game. He excels in open space and in getting to the rim but he can also create for his teammates. Perhaps his only downside is that he shot 28.
4% from three this season, so that's an area where he'll have to improve in order to be truly effective at the NBA level. CBS Sports ranks him as the No. 7 player in the draft , according to their big board, so he very well could be and likely should be a lottery pick.
It does sound like he had some part of himself that thought about staying at Oklahoma for another season, but ultimately his family has approved his decision to make the jump to the league. "It was mixed emotions between me coming back and me moving forward and declaring for the NBA Draft. But overall they’re just excited and that kind of support played a big role for me," Fears told Finebaum.
