Following opposition allegations of EVM manipulation in the recent Maharashtra assembly elections, Nanded district officials conducted a post-election verification. The announcement came amid opposition allegations that EVMs were manipulated to favour the BJP-led Mahayuti alliance, which secured a landslide victory in the recent assembly elections. All nine assembly constituencies in Nanded went to the Mahayuti coalition of BJP, Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde), and NCP (Ajit Pawar).

The opposition has questioned whether EVMs were tampered with to influence the results. Nanded collector Abhijit Raut stressed the importance of the verification process in maintaining electoral integrity, calling it a "vital step in upholding electoral transparency and accuracy."
