Officials identify victim in fatal Friday crash into Baton Rouge bank

Authorities have identified the person who died in a fatal crash Friday in Baton Rouge that also injured five others and caused a local bank to catch fire.

Authorities have identified the person who died in a fatal crash Friday in Baton Rouge that also injured five others and caused a local bank to catch fire. John Snowden, 62, died after the truck he was driving crashed into the front wall of a Chase Bank on Airline Highway just before 11 a.m.

After striking two parked vehicles outside the building, Snowden's vehicle came to rest inside the bank, and a fire ignited inside the vehicle, Baton Rouge police said Saturday. Snowden was unable to be removed from the truck and died from his injuries at the scene. Of the five others injured during the accident, three were taken to a hospital and treated for injuries.
