It's safe to say that things got a bit heated between the Colorado Buffaloes and Texas Tech Red Raiders on Saturday night in Lubbock. Deion Sanders and his team went on the road and found a way to get a massive Big 12 victory that could have major College Football Playoff ramifications down the road. During the third quarter of the game, though, Red Raider fans started to throw debris onto the field after a touchdown from Buffaloes' star Travis Hunter put Colorado on top.

Coach Prime's son, Shilo Sanders, was reportedly hit with a water bottle, and he fired one back at a student in the stands. Other Colorado players had to take cover while debris was rained down on them. Coach Prime responded to the act after the game, saying “They were throwing everything but my mama at me.

In turn, the ref appears to try and justify it, saying that Coach Prime's players were blowing kisses to the fans after scoring touchdowns. As if that's the same thing.

There is an old tradition at Texas Tech games where fans throw tortillas onto the field during kickoffs, but the tradition stops at beer cans and water bottles. I'm sure we will be hearing more about this, and the response from the official to Deion in the coming days. Related: Deion Sanders Sent Clear Message To Recruits After Saturday's Colorado Win.
