Officer’s phone stolen from police post

Ludhiana: In an ironic turn of events, a mobile phone belonging to an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) stationed at the Civil Hospital police post in Ludhiana was allegedly stolen from the post itself. A viral video captured ASI Resham Singh, in charge of the police post, explaining that he left his phone charging in the office only to find it missing upon his return. The ASI stated that the phone has since been put on tracking.

Later, ASI Singh gave a different account when contacted by media, claiming he lost the phone while handling a case in the emergency department of the hospital. Authorities are now working to clarify the circumstances surrounding the missing device, with the incident raising concerns about security within police facilities. The incident occurred on September 17th, when the victim, Krishna Upadhyay, reported the theft of her mobile phone along with her purse. ASI attached to ACB in Godhra found dead Kisan Ranchod Bhuriya, an assistant sub-inspector with the Anti Corruption Bureau in Godhra, was found dead Sunday morning. His body was discovered at the GEB power house near Panam dam.

Bhuriya had left home for work around 6 am, and his body was found around 9 am. While the cause of death is still being determined, authorities suspect suicide..
