Patricia Ann Doak passed away peacefully on Friday, November 15, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Pat lived her life with compassion and quiet faith. Her 89 years on this earth were filled with love of family and kindness toward all she met.

Born December 22, 1935, to Cecil and Mamie Rooks in Cincinnati, Ohio Pat's early life was filled with challenges while witnessing the bombing of Pearl Harbor and then being separated from her parents and siblings on the mainland for three years during the war. This established the foundation of her passionate drive for education and living life to its fullest. Pat graduated with honors from high school and went on to earn a Bachelor's degree at the University of Cincinnati and a Master's degree in business from Xavier University.

Pat put her education to use immediately, working for the United States Government teaching in Cali, Columbia and the Island of Midway, where she met her future husband, Wilson Doak. Upon marring Wilson (Wil) F Doak on Dec 26, 1960 in Hawaii, Pat adjusted her focus from teaching, to being an officer's wife and raising her three children. Throughout the multiple family moves, both domestic and international, and after their retirement, Pat always found time to give back to the community.

She was an avid volunteered throughout her life. Some of those volunteer positions include: the Navy Relief Society, USO, Navy Thrift Stores, Sea Coast Food Bank and The Humane Society in Summerville, SC. Her other passions were singing and traveling.

Wherever Pat found herself, she sought out Sweet Adelines International. A competition singing group. If there wasn't a group she would start one.

Her love for travel deeply influenced her family. They travelled the world together throughout their early years. This continued after retirement when Pat and Wil purchased a travel agency as a hobby and grew it into the largest travel company in Tacoma Washington before selling.

Pat and Wil continued to travel the world up until recently when age slowed them down. She was preceded in death by her brother Cecil Rooks Jr., sisters June and Beulah Rooks and granddaughter Megan K Doak.
