Nxled scores breakthrough win in PVL AFC

MANILA, Philippines — Nxled turned its lights on. The Chameleons finally saw the daylight after taking their first-ever win in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) 2024-25 All-Filipino Conference, beating the gutsy Galeries side in four sets, 25-20, 19-25, 25-14 25-23, on Saturday at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City. Not only did the neon green squad captured its first win in the tournament under Italian coach Ettore Guidetti, but they also ended a 15-game dry spell since the Reinforced Conference. "We basically prepare every [team] we face the same way, we give them the same respect. We think everyone is special in every game. We work around in their every rotation. After they switched the setter, we have to adapt quickly," Guidetti said. Former Chery Tiggo star EJ Laure led the scoring for Nxled with 19 points on 14 attacks and five blocks.Chiara Permentilla added 14 points, while May Luna chipped in 12 markers.Galeries relied on Jhoana Maraguinot's 14-point scoring, and Grazielle Bombita's 11-point effort. Nxled, Capital 1 and Galeries are all tied with a 1-8 win-loss card.
