Kathmandu, Nov 30: Nepal Premier League (NPL), a franchise-based T20 cricket tournament, has officially kicked off at TU Cricket Ground, Kirtipur today. Altogether eight domestic teams are competing in the tournament organized by the national cricket regulatory body, Cricket Association of Nepal. In the inaugural match today, Janakpur Bolts and Biratnagar Kings are competing.

The Janakpur Bolts won the toss and has chosen fielding. The match is due in some time. The Janakpur Bolts features wicket-keeper and opener of the Nepali national cricket team's Aasif Sheikh as a marquee and national team's another wicket-keeper Anil Sah as the team's captain.



The lineup includes spinner Lalit Rajbanshi, Rupesh Singh, Kishore Mahato, Arniko Prasad Yadav, Tul Bahadur Thapa Magar, Aakash Tripathi, Shubha Kansakar, Sher Malla and Hemanta Dhami. Likewise, the team features international cricketers such as Jimmy Neesham New Zealand, Joshua Tromp of the USA and Sri-Lankan born American Lahiru Milantha, Pakistan''s Muhammad Mohsin Khan and Ben Mike of the UK. Similarly, the Biratnagar Kings comprises Sandip Lamichhane as marquee player and the team captain.

Lokesh Bom, Pratish GC, Basir Ahamad, Rajesh Pulai Magar, Jitendra Kumar Mukhiya, Anil Kharel, Deepak Bohora, Subash Bhandari, Naren Bhatta and Munal Gurung are also in the squad. The international crickets in the team are Aqib Ilyas of Oman, Martin Guptill of New Zealand, Nicholas Kirton of Canada and Chri Sole of Scotland and Ismat Alam of Afghanistan. (RSS).
