'Nothing short of scandalous' - Rangers icon in furious red card rant.

Ally McCoist launched a rant on live TV about Robin Propper 's red card in Rangers ' match against Athletic Bilbao. The former Rangers player and manager, who was co-commentating during the Europa League game at Ibrox, expressed his anger at the decision. He continued his rant later as he joined other pundits to discuss the key moments of the 0-0 draw.

He clashed with former Rangers player and coach Alex Rae in the process. Mr McCoist said: "I was listening to the boys about the decisions. "The sending off is nothing short of scandalous.

"Don't try and tell me 'the laws of the game this, the laws of the game that,' anybody that has played the game at any level knows it is not a red card." Mr Rae then said: "How can it possibly be intentional?" Mr McCoist responded: "It's a disgraceful decision! "And it spoils the game." Mr Rae added: "The ref thought it was an intentional handball.

" However, he was corrected by Emma Dodds, Alan Hutton, and Mr McCoist who pointed out that they were referring to Propper's red card early in the game and not the second-half penalty awarded to Athletic Bilbao. Mr Rae then said: "Ally, I've got to be honest with you, he's getting a shot away there." Mr McCoist replied: "Alec, I know he is, I know he is, but it's not a sending off.

"If that is the laws of the game then the laws of the game are wrong. "We've all played the game. "It's a mistimed tackle and it's a free kick.

"You can't be sending people off for that.".
