Norwich City prospect Elliot Myles has signed a new contract that will keep him at Carrow Road until at least 2028. The 18-year-old winger has put pen to paper on an initial three-year deal, while the Canaries retain an option to extend that by a further 12 months. Myles has made the jump from under-21s football to the senior team under Johannes Hoff Thorup this season, making his Championship debut in a 2-0 defeat to Sheffield United in January and going on to play twice more in the second tier.
The first senior appearance of his career came in the form of a cameo during City's 4-3 Carabao Cup win over Stevenage last August, although he's still yet to make his first start for the club. Myles, a Welsh youth international at various levels, has played 44 games combined for the under-18 and under-21 sides at Colney, scoring 18 goals. "I'm buzzing about this, being able to stay here for longer because the opportunities I've been given this season is something I can't complain about and something I can't take for granted," said Myles , speaking to the club's site.
Sporting director Ben Knapper added: "Elliot has been progressing really well over recent months and he’s a player we’re delighted to secure long-term. "He has big potential, with so much natural ability to produce high-end actions. If he can continue to develop the other aspects of his game, which he is everyday, then he can play at a very high level.
"We’re all looking forward to continuing to help him on his journey and are excited to develop and push him further." Thorup and his staff have made a point of giving chances to young players since the Dane's arrival from talent hotbed Nordsjaelland in 2024. Gabriel Forsyth, Vicente Reyes and Brad Hills have all come through the ranks alongside Myles to make their senior debuts this season, as City have considerably lowered the age profile of their squad.
Youth coach Greg Crane backed the latter to be a success when asked about him in January this year, saying: "I had Elliot when he was in the under-16s and playing in the youth team. It's clear that he has got a talent. "It's been a joy to work with him.
He is really football-smart. He knows the game inside out, and stepping across to the first team has given him loads of confidence. "Once you get across there you have to show that you belong, and hopefully he is doing that.
