Norwich City have confirmed highly-rated academy striker Ken Aboh has signed a new Carrow Road deal. Aboh has penned a contract keeping him at the Canaries until at least 2027, with a further one-year club option. The youngster was out of contract over the summer although City would have been in line for a compensation package, if Aboh had departed, after a prolific season at development level.
Norwich were unable to keep hold of Aboh’s close friend, Alex Matos , last summer prior to the academy prospect joining Premier League Chelsea, and making his top flight debut for the Blues, before going out on loan to Huddersfield. Aboh made his senior debut under previous head coach David Wagner as a late substitute in the 5-0 Championship rout of Rotherham in March, and was an unused sub in nine other league games towards the end of the campaign. The 19-year-old notched 11 goals in 15 Premier League 2 appearances and is the latest youngster to extend his Norwich stay, after professional deals for Elliot Myles and Errol Mundle-Smith.
Sporting director Ben Knapper indicated talks were at an advanced stage when he unveiled new head coach Johannes Hoff Thorup recently. “Look nothing's done yet. So I think it would be remiss of me to talk too much about it.
But we're in a really good place,” said the City figurehead. “There's a few details still to finalise. But I'd like to think that we'll get to where we all want to be on that one.
