Ohio State moved to 9-1 this season with a big win over Northwestern on Saturday, taking down another Big Ten conference opponent with relative ease. The Buckeyes and the Wildcats faced off at Wrigley Field in Chicago, and the Ohio State offense hit several home run plays, coming away with a 31-7 victory. Star freshman wide receiver Jeremiah Smith had four receptions for 100 yards in the win, but some Buckeye fans are pointing to one moment in the game where an opposing player appeared to intentionally injure the young wide receiver.
One Ohio State fan posted a clip from Saturday's game on social media that shows a Northwestern player grabbing Smith's leg and twisting it while he's on the ground after a play. #6 Robert Fitzgerald purposely twisting and pulling Jeremiah Smith’s leg after the play. Dirty play.

"Hey Big Ten, take a look at this BS. Intentionally trying to hurt another player is ridiculous and worthy of a punishment," said one fan . "Anyone who does this needs a heavy suspension," another fan said .
"Trying to intentionally injure a player should result in forfeiting said player's career," one fan added . "This is straight trash by NW," said another fan . "This is a problem.
Totally unacceptable and I’m sure OSU will be following up on this," one fan said , urging the Buckeyes to take action. Ali Gradischer/Getty Images "Not a good look when someone intentionally injures the top freshman WR in the country. No flag here is WILD," another fan noted .
"This deserves an ejection and missing a game more than incidental targeting," one fan claimed . "This needs to be sent to the Big Ten HQ after the game. Luckily it’s not too far away, Ryan Day could hand deliver this one," said another fan .
Ohio State will move on to face Indiana next week in one of the biggest games of the Big Ten season. The winner will have the inside track to a matchup with Oregon in the conference championship. We'll see what happens with that game - and this Northwestern player - over the course of the next week.
