The National Weather Service in Sacramento has forecasted a series of wintry events poised to strike Northern California, ushering in robust winds, heavy snowfall, and potential thunderstorms. Residents in the affected regions should brace for impactful conditions over the following days. According to the National Weather Service forecast, "snow showers are possible over the mountains today, with accumulating snow over the Shasta County mountains.

" A Winter Storm Warning has been activated at elevations above 4000 feet for Shasta County from 11 AM Saturday through 11 PM Sunday. The imminent weather system expected to arrive on Sunday is projected to maintain its presence well into early Tuesday. It is anticipated to bring about not only considerable quantities of rain and mountain snow but also "strong gusty winds.

" Forecasters are especially concerned about "snowfall amounts of 1 to 2 feet," with the possibility of reaching "up to 3 feet over higher peaks." Such conditions could severely impact mountain travel. To duly prepare for the impending winds, the National Weather Service extended a High Wind Warning for the northeastern foothills and parts of the northern Sacramento Valley, suggesting that gusts could reach up to 65 mph.

This specific warning has been slated to remain in effect from 11 PM Sunday until 11 PM Monday. As the region steels itself for this wintry strike, meteorologists at the National Weather Service caution travelers and locals to stay informed regarding the changing conditions. "A disturbance to the north will bring moisture and renewed intensity to showers to far northern California later today and tonight," states the area forecast discussion.

Although the storm presents formidable adversities, forecasters seem to anticipate a respite, projecting that "most precipitation is expected to be coming to an end by very early Tuesday morning.".
