A North Wales-based consultancy firm is planning to double its turnover in the next five years. Caulmert, which provides engineering, environmental, and planning services, is aiming for a turnover of more than £8 million. The company, with offices in St Asaph, Bangor, Altrincham, Nottingham, Sheffield, and Kent, is celebrating its 15th anniversary.

The 50-person workforce is involved in civil engineering, geotechnical, structural, planning, project management, compliance and permitting, and land assessments. Caulmert is currently involved in a number of projects, including Morgan Sindall Infrastructure's improvement of several train stations for Merseyrail. The consultancy has completed detailed designs as part of the Access for All initiative, which includes the installation of lifts and the creation of improved access staircases, raised walkways, footbridges, and retaining walls.

Work at St Michaels and Hunts Cross has been completed, whilst activity at Rock Ferry, Aigburth, and Sandhills currently underway. The Dinorwig Power Station is also currently working with Caulmert on the design of a new drainage system for the main inlet valve. The Bala Lake Railway Trust's plan to extend the line into the town centre is another project on Caulmert's books.

The consultancy is also supporting the Manx government's strategy to dispose of 3,000 tonnes of sediment that settles in a harbour each year and providing structural and geotechnical support on the Vale of York Motorway Services Area. Caulmert's client list includes the National Trust, Tiger Tim, Alun Griffiths Contractors, Ellis Williams Architects, Deeside Power (UK) Ltd, C2 Construction Ltd, Cartrefi Conwy, Plastecowood, and KDM Group. The projects have resulted in a number of job opportunities as the consultancy looks to expand its team.

Mike Caulfield, founder and managing director, said: "Our expertise is evident to all employees, but it is only when you take a step back and look at the variety of projects and sectors in which we work that you appreciate the scope. "We have a hugely talented workforce which continues to evolve and grow to meet the demands of each and every scheme we have the pleasure of being a part of. "The future looks to be a bright one.

" "Businesses have had to navigate a difficult landscape in recent years, so to be positive about the coming weeks, months, and years is wonderful. "We’ve set impressive progression plans around turnover and further strengthening our team of experts." Caulmert, founded in 2009, is on track to meet its growth and development plan.

The company applies its expertise across engineering, environmental, planning, and project management disciplines, using Building Information Modelling (BIM) at level two standards on many of its projects. You can find out more about the company on their website at www.caulmert.
