NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Officials with the North Little Rock Police Department are investigating a deadly vehicle crash on the Broadway Bridge that led to its closure Sunday night. NLRPD officials said in a release Sunday night that officers responded at approximately 5:42 p.
m. in reference to a vehicle crash. When officers arrived, they said they discovered that a crash happened involving a small moped and a minivan.
Police said that the person operating the moped was pronounced dead at the scene. Officials have not released their name, pending notification of the next of kin. Detectives said that both vehicles were traveling south across the bridge when the crash happened.
The driver of the minivan remained on scene and was interviewed by detectives. All lanes of the bridge were closed to vehicles and pedestrians shortly after 6:45 p.m.
