Norfolk to be hotter than Ibiza this week with highs of 20C

Parts of Norfolk are forecast to be hotter than Ibiza and Corfu on Thursday for the first official day of spring. Thursday marks the spring equinox and temperatures could reach 20C in some areas of the county. This is nine degrees warmer than the average for this time of year, Met Office meteorologist Becky Mitchell said.

“We’re expecting quite a lot of dry weather, increasing amounts of sunshine as we head through the next few days,” she added. As Norfolk enjoys some spring sunshine, Ibiza is forecast to have highs of 17C on Thursday and in Corfu temperatures will reach highs of 16C. The spring equinox occurs when the Earth's axis is tilted neither towards nor away from the sun, making day and night equal in length..
