NOPD responds to mass casualty incident on Bourbon Street

We're told that at least 10 people are dead after a vehicle plowed into a group of people.

NEW ORLEANS — The New Orleans Police Department is on the scene of a major incident on Bourbon Street. At least 10 people are dead after a vehicle plowed into a group of people. The City of New Orleans says NOEMS has transported 30 injured patients.

Multiple EMS units are on the scene, according to NOPD. No other information is available at this time. This is a developing story.



Updates will be provided as more information becomes available. We’re hearing reports of numerous people being my struck by a vehicle and shots being fired in the French Quarter. The Orleans Parish Coroner has arrived on Canal St.

There are 30 injured patients that have been transported by NOEMS and 10 fatalities. Public safety partners are responding on scene. Updates will follow as they are received.
