A gust of wind can be both a friend and foe to a star: a perfectly-timed stream of air could help capture an iconic shot, or a sudden whirlwind could turn the red carpet to chaos—or worse, a wardrobe malfunction. But Hunter Schafer took control with her latest look and brought her own wind machine. Well, sort of.
The actor appeared at the Independent Spirit Awards 2025 on Saturday in Los Angeles wearing straight-from-the-runway Prada , look one from the spring 2025 ready-to-wear collection. The floral sundress features orange and yellow bouquets, with snaking skyward straps that stand to attention all by themselves—sans wind—and a jaunty hem. Styled by her longtime collaborator, friend, and fellow Prada lover Dara Allen, Schafer opted for another pair of pink and brown patent peep-toes from the Prada collection.
It felt fun, flirty, and full of character in a way only Schafer and Allen can do. In terms of glam , she went simple: super soft orange eyeshadow and a chalk pink blush, with her long hair straight and lightly tousled—as if she’s been running in cornfields, like the rest of the look denotes. The Euphoria actor was there to present the award for Best Supporting Performance in a New Scripted Series alongside Alana Haim, which she gave to Baby Reindeer actor Nava Mau .
The red carpet saw a real mix of real-time red carpet trends: Mau in ladylike gloves and a full-skirted, frilly Tanner Fletcher gown, Julia Fox in the sleek and sexy sportswear of Willy Chavarria . Florals abounded too in different ways: Natasha Lyonne wore a gauzy orange and beige, abstract floral print Rochas tea dress, Sonequa Martin-Green chose a blossoming lilac and green strapless gown by Khoon Hooi, and Elizabeth Olsen wore an elegantly sheer, mint lace floral Erdem dress with a baby pink sleeve appendage. Florals, for spring? Hunter Schafer et al have made it groundbreaking.
