KUALA LUMPUR: There have been no successful bids yet for the proposed Northern Corridor Highway (NCH), says Works Minister Alexander Nanta Linggi Alexander stated that the highway project was made available for competitive bidding in 2023 through the Private Partnership Unit (Ukas) under the Prime Minister's Department. "Following the assessment by the Ukas committee, there were no bids that met the required criteria," he said in response to a supplementary question from Roslan Hashim (Perikatan-Kulim-Bandar Baru) in the Dewan Rakyat on Monday (Oct 21). He added that the government welcomes and will consider proposals from companies interested in constructing the new highway.
The bid in question pertains to a 48-kilometer stretch intended to link Sungai Petani to Kulim Bandar Baru, following plans put forth by the Works Ministry and the Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM)..
