NMC demands appointment of chairman, members of Pay Commission

Excelsior Correspondent JAMMU, Oct 6: National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) president, Subash Shastri today urged upon PM Modi to immediately appoint chairman and other members of 8th Pay Commission. Excelsior Correspondent JAMMU, Oct 6: National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) president, Subash Shastri today urged upon PM Modi to immediately appoint chairman and other members of 8th Pay Commission. Addressing a meeting of NMC workers, Shastri said that notification for the constitution of 8th Pay Commission is need of the hour. He said that 50 percent of DA should be forthwith merged with basic pay and pension while 20 per cent interim relief should be sanctioned as early as possible in favour of the employees and pensioners.

Shastri stressed on the need to immediately restore Old Pension Scheme (OPS) as a confidence building measure because many States have done this. Release of 18 months’ pending DA arrears and regularization of daily wagers who have completed seven years of service in March, 2024 remained other demands, along with the demand of hike in monthly emoluments to Rs. 18,000 and enhancement of medical allowance to Rs.



1000 per month on the pattern of Ladakh. Rajan Babu Khajuria, B.S Jamwal, Surinder Kumar, Ramesh Sharma, Chaman Lal, Birbal, Vinod Kumar, ex-Sarpanch Sukhdev Singh, Ram Singh, Subash Sharma and Ram Lal Sharma were also present in the meeting.
