
Ding (third left) witnesses the handover ceremony.BINTANGOR (March 9): Nine development projects worth RM650,000 under the Rural Transformation Project (RTP) 2024 for the Meradong constituency have been completed on schedule earlier this year, said Datuk Ding Kuong Hiing.The Meradong assemblyman stated that the projects were implemented and supervised by the Maradong and Julau District Council (MDMJ), and meant to enhance local infrastructure and improve public facilities.
“All these projects were completed within the stipulated time frame.“Congratulations and thank you to everyone involved for ensuring that the works were carried out according to the required standards,” he said during a handing over of the completed RTP projects on Thursday.Ding emphasised that this initiative is part of the Sarawak government’s strategy to boost infrastructure development in rural areas, ensuring that residents benefit from improved facilities and services.
Among the completed projects were the upgrading of Jalan Yin Ho, Lower Sungai Meradong (RM50,000); reinforcement of Jalan Rumah Kadu, Sungai Pilit (RM50,000); infrastructure enhancement at Bintangor Health Clinic (RM80,000); site preparation and road works for Bintangor Petanque Court (RM100,000); and upgrading of the main access road to Rumah Takang and Rumah Janggu (RM100,000).Other projects include the upgrading of the road and field at Rumah Takang (RM50,000); upgrading of the Batu 8 cemetery road at Jalan Kelupu, Bintangor (RM100,000); infrastructure enhancement at Rumah Johnson, Ulu Strass (RM50,000); and upgrading of Rumah Faustino, Ulu Strass (RM70,000).Also present at the event were MDMJ civil engineer Nur Hazirah Sadong, SUPP Bintangor Branch secretary Lau Sie Hing, and Pemanca Yii Hee Sieng.
