Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni is "really excited" for this month's White House visit , but he's now ready to turn the page on their Super Bowl LIX celebrations. The Eagles have been riding high since winning their second Super Bowl in franchise history, enjoying almost two months of partying with fans after their February 9 40-22 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans. The dominant win, in which they led 34-6 heading into the final quarter, was a remarkable achievement for the team, especially considering they were the underdogs.
As is tradition, the Eagles will visit President Donald Trump at the White House to wrap up their celebrations, but speaking at the annual NFL meeting, Sirianni emphasized that it's time to shift focus to the new season. With the Eagles entering the 2025 campaign as defending champions, they're eager to prove their title win was no fluke and aim to retain their crown. And Sirianni is thrilled about visiting the White House on April 28 to celebrate their Super Bowl LIX triumph with President Trump.
"I'm really excited to go, yeah," he stated, according to OutKick . "What an honor. What an honor to be able to go to the White House.
Teams that have been able to win championships have been doing that for a long time, and I'm really honored to go and really excited to go." But while he's amped for the D. C.
trip, Sirianni admitted it's high time to dial down the victory vibes and shift focus to getting in gear for the next NFL season. "So, we'll get to a point, we're to a point now where the celebration is over. The celebration of the Super Bowl is over," he shared.
"And I know there'll be people like [Brandon Graham] and Saquon [Barkley] threw out the first pitch, but our preparation is here. Celebration is over but preparation is here. "And there's nothing like getting back in there and starting to work again.
Because with our team and the leaders that we have, if you're not busting your butt, you'll be exposed. That's why we value these guys so much. Try not to work hard in front of Saquon Barkley or Jalen Hurts and they'll be on you.
" The Eagles are set to be the second professional sports team to visit the White House this year, following the Florida Panthers who celebrated their inaugural Stanley Cup victory with the president in February. This marks the second invitation for Philadelphia to the White House, but it will be their first time attending. After their Super Bowl LII triumph in February 2018, several Eagles players chose not to visit the White House due to political reasons during Trump's initial presidential term.
The lack of enthusiasm from the players led to the NFL franchise being disinvited by the Trump administration. However, this time around, things are anticipated to be different despite an initial delay in the Eagles receiving their invitation. Understandably, there were concerns about history repeating itself, but Philadelphia eventually accepted Trump's invite in early March.
The franchise is now expected to attend in full force later this month. As for Sirianni and his team, their offseason conditioning is slated to start in just a few weeks, ahead of the 2025 NFL draft scheduled for April 24-26. The Eagles have eight picks over the three-day draft, all within the first five rounds, starting with the No.
32 pick in the first round..
