In the SEC, there is a cluster of teams with one or two losses, but no team has separated itself as the clear class of the conference. Each team has shown its warts and fallen at some point during the season. It's the most balanced and deep the SEC has been in quite a while, following the utter dominance exemplified by Alabama and Georgia the past couple of years.
Nick Saban, who won 11 SEC Championships during his career, gave his take on the best team in his former conference. "Ole Miss is probably the best [team in the SEC] right now," Saban said on College GameDay Saturday morning . "I love Alabama — that’s my team, that’s my guys.

Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin's teams used to be known for their unbelievable offenses, but this year is different. Kiffin brought in multiple big-time defensive line transfers through the portal, and that has led to the Rebels leading the country in sacks. Ole Miss's defense held Georgia to its lowest point total in years last week and flustered quarterback Carson Beck for the entirety of the game.
Still, Kiffin's offense is as potent as ever, with veteran quarterback Jaxson Dart leading an offense full of talented skill-players.
