In the complaint filed in Nevada, a woman said she was sexually assaulted by Carter in several instances in 2004 and 2005 when they were in a relationship. The woman was 19 at the time, while the Backstreet Boys performer was 25.

She claimed that they had a “sexually intimate relationship and [they] would see each other approximately every few weeks.” She further noted that she had consensual sex with Carter thrice, but that the singer later became aggressive. Carter allegedly forced the woman into sexual acts despite her refusal.

In one instance in early 2005, she said she went to the singer’s apartment to watch a movie with him but that he “told her no because the only reason she was there was to have sex.” The woman claimed that Carter “failed to use protection” during the incident, noting that she never had unprotected sex prior to this. As per the lawsuit, she was instructed to keep the assault a secret and that she received an apology from Carter a few months later.

However, when she came to see him, Carter allegedly sexually assaulted her again. In July 2005, after the second incident, the woman allegedly tested positive for chlamydia and gonorrhea as well as cancerous cells. The lawsuit stated that Carter “infected the plaintiff with various sexually transmitted diseases, including the human papillomavirus (commonly known as HPV), a sexually transmitted infection known to cause health problems such as cervical cancer.

” The following August, the woman was diagnosed with stage 2 cervical cancer. She underwent numerous treatments which caused her “severe emotional distress, physical anguish, medical issues, intimacy issues, and other complex trauma.” The plaintiff is seeking damages in excess of $15,000, and is demanding a jury trial.

Carter’s lawyers denied these accusations, dismissing them as “more of the same nonsense from the gang of conspirators and their lawyers who continue to abuse the justice system to try to ruin Nick Carter.” The legal counsel further stressed that Carter “does not recall ever even meeting” the recent plaintiff, whom they alleged to have a “documented history of financial and legal trouble.” “Not only will we fight this, we will be seeking sanctions against her legal team for enabling this frivolous action,” the singer’s legal team added.
