He remained on the roster till March but is now linked with either a move to the Pittsburgh Steelers or retirement. Jets lineback Sherwood was questioned on Rodgers’ exit and the void left.“Aaron Rodgers was a great person.
A great player, obviously,” Sherwood said.“He taught everybody in this building a lot just in the two years he was here. “He taught me a lot, just from being a younger backer, the defense plays.
“Obviously, when we’re practising against each other he did great things with his eyes that helped put me in a good position. “So I can say he helped created a standard for myself and those other guys on offense. He left a mark on all of us.
“Again, he just taught us all so much in a short space of time that we can all carry on for the rest of our lives, rest of our football careers. “He meant a lot to us, I can say that.” Free agent Rodgers is still considering his future amid rumours of retirement.
But the Steelers have made “positive momentum” to sign the quarterback, according to Ian Rapoport..
