NFL fans are paying tribute to a legendary Miami Dolphins running back on Saturday night. Mercury Morris, an all-time Miami Dolphins running back, passed away on Saturday evening. He was 77 years old.

Morris, who won two Super Bowls and made three Pro Bowls, was a part of the iconic 1972 Miami Dolphins team that went undefeated. His family shared the tough news on social media. "It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Eugene "Mercury" Morris, legendary Miami Dolphins running back and cherished member of the NFL family, at the age of 77," his family announced.



"Beyond the field, Mercury was a dedicated father, a loving brother, a loyal friend, and a pillar in the community. His presence extended far beyond football, as he touched the lives of many throughout his time in Miami." NFL fans are deeply saddened by his passing.

"Thank you for sharing your father with the #DolphinsNATION for the majority of his life. He is forever etched in history, his name forever spoken. Hope that brings you some solace during this horrible time," one fan wrote.
