The Philadelphia Eagles have not scored yet on Thursday Night Football, but it's not because they haven't had opportunities. On the Eagles' opening drive, the team moved into Washington Commanders territory before the drive stalled at the 26-yard line. Unfortunately, usually reliable kicker Jake Elliott missed a 43-yard field goal, keeping the game scoreless.

Later on, after Washington took a 7-0 lead, Philadelphia had another chance to put points on the board, but Elliott missed again, this time from 50 yards out. Elliott, who is in his eighth NFL season and was a second-team All-Pro in 2023, came into tonight 23-for-23 on extra points and 12-for-15 on field goals. However, he's struggling to find the range so far.

"Who broke Jake Elliott? Two misses in a game for the #Eagles ' kicker for the first time since Week 16, 2019," said NFL Network's Mike Garafolo on X/Twitter. For the year, Elliott is now 0-for-4 from 50 yards and beyond, an area that used to be a strength. Eagles fans on social media are getting fed up.

Andy Lyons/Getty Images "Cut Jake Elliott. Kickers grow on trees," one Eagles fan said. "Cut Jake Elliott immediately.

We now know why Sirianni wasn’t taking the points, it’s because they’re not a given," a second fan added. "Hey @Eagles can you please cut Jake Elliott?" a third fan asked. "Jake Elliott is a cooked bum cut him ASAP," a fourth Eagles fan chimed in.

"Jake Elliott is officially cooked. Time to cut him," a fifth fan added. Despite Elliott's struggles, the Eagles are still only down 7-0 in what has been a defensive battle at Lincoln Financial Field.

We've already seen seven combined punts, and it's not even halftime yet. The winner of tonight's game will claim sole possession of first place in the NFC East. You can watch the rest of the action on Amazon Prime Video.
