Miami’s Cam Ward is thought to be the leading QB candidate and possible No. 1 overall pick by the Tennessee Titans on April 24.But there is less clarity around Sanders’ situation.

And ESPN reported that one NFC personnel evaluator had a brutal assesment of him.“Fringe starter,” the executive was quoted as saying.“Makes good decisions and does some good things but won’t get you over the top.

”ESPN added that only two out of six personnel evaluators considered Sanders a first-round pick.Sanders competed in a Pro Day at Colorado last week to showcase his talents. His Buffaloes teammate Travis Hunter is also in the mix for a high draft pick.

The Tennessee Titans canceled their private workout with Sanders after attending the Pro Day. They had apparently seen all they needed to from the 23-year-old to get a feel for his talents.Sanders, son of NFL legend Deion, visited with the Pittsburgh Steelers this week.

The Steelers are in need of a quarterback and hold the No. 21 overall pick. They have just two veteran QBs on their roster at the moment in Mason Rudolph and Skylar Thompson.

Pittsburgh has been linked with four-time MVP Aaron Rodgers, 41.But the former New York Jets quarterback has yet to decide on his future. And the Steelers could be forced into the draft to fix their problem.

Sanders told NFL Network after his Pittsburgh visit, “The Steelers was great.“I understand why they win so much and why Tomlin is the way he is.“He resembles dad a little bit, they have the same principles.
