Ne-Yo has revealed the one rule for his polyamorous relationship with his four girlfriends , "What I say goes...
and you can't date other men." The R&B singer , 45, shocked fans earlier in the year when he came out with his new polyamorous lifestyle, introducing his four partners to fans — Cristina ("Pretty Baby"), Arielle ("Twin Flame"), Moneii ("Phoenix Feather"), and Bri ("Sexy Lil' Somethin'") — following his 2023 split from Crystal Renay. In an interview with radio personality Angie Martinez, Ne-Yo gave a glimpse into what he called "The Pyramid.
" Regarding whether the women are permitted to see other men , his response was clear, "No, no they are not." He added, "When I got with these women, I did not ask for their exclusivity. I did not demand their exclusivity.
They asked for it. They came to me and said, 'I want to be exclusive to you and just you.'" He stressed transparency within their relationships, saying, "I said, 'You understand that your exclusivity to me, does not mean my exclusivity to you? You understand this, yes? You're OK with it?'" He underscored that honesty is crucial and each woman retains her freedom to leave whenever she chooses.
"The main rule is to just keep it a buck. We're not gonna lie. We're not gonna lie to each other.
We're not gonna sit up here and blow smoke. I ain't selling no dreams, and I'm not forcing anybody to be here," he said. He emphasized the open-door policy, remarking, "If for whatever reason you decide this isn't for you anymore, the door is never locked.
You have permission to go on about your business. I don't want anybody to think that I'm manipulating these women into doing something they don't want to do." Ne-Yo confessed that coordinating his life with his girlfriends can be complex due to his busy calendar and his commitment to fatherhood.
He's a proud dad to seven kids - Madilyn, Mason, Shaffer Jr., Roman, Isabella, Braiden and Brixton. Ne-Yo elaborated, "One of the major challenges is time, because I don't have a lot of free time, I have seven beautiful children.
I have a career that is still moving like it's 2005, in this thing, I move around a lot, so I don't have a lot of free time, and everybody needs their own individual time." He added, "You know, we do things as a group, but in a relationship like this, you have to make sure that individual time is just as poignant as group time. There's certain situations where one may feel like this one is getting a little more attention, or this one is getting a little more time, or something like that.
"But whenever that happens, I bring everybody together, we all hash it out right then and there. 'OK, bring your issue to the table, and we resolve it as a group'. That's the only way it works.
" Ne-Yo revealed his relationship arrangement while on tour. He allocates each girlfriend a week of his time before uniting them all for a group outing. He shared, "On the tour, I'll let this one come out for for seven days, then she go home, then this one will come out for seven days and then this one will come out for seven days and then we do something altogether.
They all get along with each other and have no problem hanging out with each other, but I think one of the most important things about this is understanding that these are four individuals that need their time."
