Newton Football Hosts Marshalltown for Homecoming Tomorrow Night

The 2-1 Newton Cardinal Football team will host the 0-3 Marshalltown Bobcats for homecoming at H.A. Lynn Stadium in Newton tomorrow night.

The Cardinals have won two straight games after a season opening 13-8 loss to ADM in Adel. They defeated Dallas Center-Grimes at home 28-7, and won at Norwalk last Friday night 29-21. Marshalltown has lost at home to Mason City 26-25, and to Cedar Rapids Jefferson 28-7.



Last Friday night, the Bobcats went to Davenport North and lost 28-14. Newton leads the series against Marshalltown 6 to 4 in games played since 2008. This will be Newton’s last non-district game of the season.

The Cardinals will open District play at Bondurant-Farrar next Friday, September 27th. Tomorrow night’s homecoming game against Marshalltown can be heard live on kniakrls.com KRLS3.
