Former City of Cape Town Housing Mayco member Malusi Booi was granted R250 000 bail in the Cape Town Magistrate's Court on Tuesday in a case in which he has been charged in connection with R1bn housing tender fraud.

The Cape Town Magistrate's Court set hefty bail amounts for former City of Cape Town Housing Mayco member M alusi Booi and his co-accused. They were warned not to contact witnesses, or leave their home province without contacting the investigating officer and providing everything required for cross-province travel. The R250 000 Booi was order to pay was more than what the State suggested.

Former City of Cape Town Housing Mayco member Malusi Booi was granted R250 000 bail in the Cape Town Magistrate's Court on Tuesday in a case in which he has been charged in connection with R1bn housing tender fraud. The amount was more than the R200 000 the State suggested. Magistrate Alida Theart also granted bail to his co-accused.



Suraya Manual was granted R150 000 bail, Abdul-Kader Davids R250 000, Mohammed Amod R250 000, Randall Mullins R250 000, Brenda Mullins R250 000, Thuli Imgibi R25 000, Nomvuyo Mnyaka R25 000, Lorna Ndoda R25 000 and Siphokazi September R25 000. They were warned not to contact witnesses, or leave their home province without contacting the investigating officer and providing everything required for cross-province travel. Mnyaka, who is Booi's ex-wife, was denied permission to travel outside South Africa for work because she did not supply anything to prove that travel was required for her job.
