Fabian Schar admits that there can be no drop off from Newcastle United's intensity in the build-up to the encounter with Manchester United - revealing that Eddie Howe has been recording training sessions. Howe was admitted to hospital with an illness that is yet to be disclosed, but Schar knows that the bigger picture will see Howe review everything when he is in a position to do so. And even without Howe at Benton this week, Schar knows that the levels will not dip.
Schar told beIN Sports: "We know he is going to watch the training session back so the intensity is there. Everyone knows that we have to work to win games. And we can't let off anything.
So training has been the same. "We obviously record all the training sessions to show us things in video sequences and stuff. And he will probably see some sort of training session I guess.
"So we still have to train well, do our job and be ready for Sunday." On Saturday night, Newcastle released a statement to inform fans that Howe would not be in the dugout. It read: "Eddie Howe will miss Newcastle United ’s Premier League game against Manchester United on Sunday due to illness.
"The Magpies’ head coach was admitted to hospital late on Friday evening having felt unwell for a number of days. Medical staff kept Eddie in hospital overnight for further tests, which are ongoing. "He is conscious and talking with his family, and is continuing to receive expert medical care.
Everyone at Newcastle United extends their best wishes to Eddie for a speedy recovery, and further updates will follow in due course. "Jason Tindall and Graeme Jones will lead the team at St. James’ Park on Sunday, supported by the club‘s first team staff.
" Newcastle are in the middle of a Champions League push and fans can watch the big games with Sky Sports' discounted TV bundle. The Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle is now £35 and includes more than 1,000 live matches each season across the Premier League, EFL and more. £35.
