New restaurant set to open at Sutton Coldfield retail park

Willow is set to replace the former Prezzo at the Mulberry Walk retail site off Mere Green Road in Sutton Coldfield

A new restaurant is set to open at a Sutton Coldfield retail park some 18 months after its last occupant left. Paragon Group is going to open its third Willow-branded restaurant at the former Prezzo site in Mulberry Walk in Mere Green which closed down last year . The food it offers is described as ‘Mediterranean-inspired’ and it also hosts live music nights.

It caters for early birds and those dining later offering a mix of breakfasts from traditional cooked brekkie with bacon, sausage and egg, and pancakes. To Middle Eastern vegan brunch with meatballs, scrambled tofu fennel sausages, hummus and spinach. The Med brunch has rump steak , hash browns, wilted spinach, eggs and harissa ketchup.



Read more: New pub and restaurant to open in city suburb listed building The lunch menu has a range of sandwiches, like lemon and herb chicken on focaccia, or a steak burger in a brioche bun to a plant meatball sub, again with brioche. And lunch specials like chicken pitta or hot honey halloumi with skin on fries, tomato, lettuce, onions and pesto mayo. The main menu has a range of starters like piri piri pork skewers, mascarpone stuffed mushrooms , roasted halloumi and sweet potato bravas.

Med-inspired salads including a Middle Eastern Bowl with roasted red pepper, tomato hummus, crispy chickpeas and more in a rose harissa dressing. Or a veggie Green Greek Goddess with spinach Greek yoghury, cucumbers, edamame, onions, tomatoes, olives and beetroot. And seafood like garlic and herb glazed seabass or King prawn paella. There’s roasted lamb shoulder, feta and spinach orzo pasta and pomegranate-glazed butternut squash. Willow also does a traditional Sunday lunch with roast beef, glazed ham or a best of both option.

There’s a Portobello Mushroom Kiev for vegetarians and vegans. Kids are catered for with macaroni cheese, grilled pork sausages and mash, panko fish fingers, popcorn chicken, hot dogs and chargrilled steak. While puds for all include some more English offerings - vanilla ice cream and sticky toffee pudding, to warm Greek orange cake or Basque cheesecake and traditional Italian tiramisu.
