The Med is set to open on August 31 It will offer an array of cuisine, including Turkish, Greek and Italian and specialised steaks. The restaurant will offer both à la carte and lunch and dinner menus, with last orders around 9.30pm.
There will be nightlife on Friday and Saturday which will see the restaurant stay open from 10pm to 1.30am. Manager Olivia Ramsay believes the restaurant, which has a sister restaurant, Brakan, in London Road, will offer something new for Leigh.
She said: “There will be live entertainment, and the bar will be open. We have a nice bar in the restaurant and that will constantly be serving drinks and orders to the table. It will be available to book, and we want people around for that.
“We want to capitalise on everything. On Saturday and Sunday, we will do roast dinner set menus that will include a live singer for relaxing and we will also feature live entertainment and music as well. “This is more for the community, they have no restaurants, and we want nightlife to pick up there.
It is usually Brentwood and London people go to. “We have people who do go out, which is why we thought it would be good for the area and new and fresh. “The actual restaurant is a very big step up, we have refurbished it and it is a really nice space that we have.
It is really exciting and we hope for that to be beneficial for customers, mostly because we are open seven days a week. “That is another inclusive thing we hope people will be happy about.” Ms Ramsay added that with a talented mixologist team, who are incredibly experienced alongside an exciting kitchen crew, the Med will offer a more extensive range of dishes than Brakan does.
She added: “We are focused on the grill, like the classic Mediterranean restaurants. It is what we are really about.”.
