A new Helldivers 2 glitch has added a new way to troll players in Arrowhead’s brilliant multiplayer game. With more than 15 million players delving into planets to fight for Super Earth’s galactic democracy, some have found a new way of tricking their fellow soldiers. Helldivers 2 chat troll In a recent update for the game, players have discovered a new way to troll teammates via the in-game chat.

Arrowhead accidentally made it so that players can use HTML codes in the in-game chat, allowing them to customise the look of their messages. With this feature, some smart-minded players have sent messages into public chats that look like in-game notifications. Players have used this system to trick other players into thinking that the long-teased Illuminate faction have arrived in the game with chat messages saying: “[PLAYER] has discovered Illuminate Outpost” and other similar messages.

With HTML codes making the chat message look like official in-game notifications, some players have been tricked into believing that The Illuminate are in the game. While numerous mission leaks and even Steam updates have teased their arrival, there’s currently no date for the new faction in the game. Alongside players trolling with Illuminate messages, others have taken to more crude measures within the game.

One player, as shown on Reddit , used the new chat troll to make the game say: “Torin2665: has discovered Big Booty B**ches” to their in-game chat. Should Arrowhead fix this? While the new HTML exploit does make it so that players can easily trick others within matches of Helldivers 2, players have asked for Arrowhead to leave the trick in the game. “Arrowhead, I’m begging you please do not remove this accidental feature,” one player cried.

However, with full access to HTML codes, there are potential exploits that could cause huge issues for the multiplayer game. While players have yet to deal with it, there’s a possibility that some HTML codes inputted into the public chat could break the game, cause crashes and more. With this in mind, Arrowhead will likely patch this out in the near future.
